We all learned about the Boston Tea Party in History class. But do you know about the second most important tea party in American history?
2020 marks the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in America. Or is it the 150th? Come hear about the remarkable life of Esther Morris: abolitionist, suffragist, and the first female justice of the peace in the world, as told through the blocks of a quilt. In 1869 Esther gave a tea party which was responsible for women in the Wyoming Territory getting the vote 50 years before the rest of the country. This was just one accomplishment in the life of this extraordinary woman.
You will also learn tips for creating your own biographical quilt.
This event will be held in Classroom 1.
