‘Shining Star’ is a cheerful modern quilt that will introduce you to the skill of improvisational quilting as well as making accurate flying geese blocks. Make it in solids as Ann did or pick a bunch of great prints. The middle of the quilt is a log cabin that you will piece using improv techniques.
The pattern features various size options including queen, throw, and baby sizes. It can even be made into a cute little wall hanging. Ann made the queen size for her bed and hopes to put it there when the quilt finishes its travels.
You will learn how to do improv log cabins as well as how to make a great flying geese block.
Skill level: Moderate beginner and above
