French Roses

Upcoming Class

The French Roses quilt is a different kind of raw edge applique. Normally we try to keep those raw edges from fraying. In this quilt we do our best to make them fray - even washing it after it's completed - for a very unique look. Have fun picking out a selection of fabrics for your flowers. Use low volume choices as in the sample, or make them bright and vivid for a springtime treat. Or, you could just dig into your scrap bag for dozens of amazing selections. The roses are sewn in layers with the back of each layer trimmed out for a softer, more flexible flower.

You will love this quilt when it's finished. Ann's even won a judge's choice in a quilt show! Come to class and have a good time sewing with others and perhaps even exchange some good scraps to add to your creation.
