The Log Cabin block pattern is the oldest of quilt designs, and perhaps the most beloved, as it’s often chosen as a family heirloom. Traditionally, the center of the “cabin†features a red block for the fire or hearth, the gathering place of any home. Each "log" is accented with hand-quilting giving the quilt added loft and beauty. Hand-quilted by an Amish friend, Lancaster County, PA.
