How do I register for a class?
You may register online at our Current Classes page under The Old Country Store website. (Click the “Buy Now” button, complete the pop-up form, then click “Buy Now” again to be taken to the payment page). You may also register in the Store or by calling us at 800/828-8218.
I do not have a PayPal account. Can I still register online?
Yes, you can still register online. PayPal will simply “host” your payment, allowing you to pay with the credit card of your choice on the payment page.
Is my online payment secure?
The Old Country Store and PayPal offer secure technology. Register for our classes with confidence, knowing that we employ advanced encryption techniques and firewall security to protect your credit card data and personal information.
What happens to the personal information I submit?
The Old Country Store keeps your personal information private. The personal and financial information you provide for registration is used exclusively for securing your payment and communicating with you. We will not sell, transfer, or share any of your personal information with any other company, for any reason.
I have an Old Country Store gift card. Can I use it to pay for my class?
Yes, you may! You will need to register for the class in person or by calling the Store at 800/828-8218. If you register by phone, please have the gift card handy so you can give us the number on the back of the card to process your payment.
How early should I register?
You should register as early as possible. Class sizes are limited to 12 students or less, and students are seated in order of registration. Registration remains open until the class is sold out, or 12-24 hours before class time.
The class I want to attend is sold out. Can I be added to a waiting list?
Yes, please contact us to be added to the waiting list. You may also request to be informed if the class is offered again.
I’ve registered for a class, but now my plans for that day have changed. Can I cancel my registration?
You may cancel your registration and receive a full refund up to two weeks before the class. In the event of sickness or an unexpected family emergency, we appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible prior to class and will do our best to accommodate your situation.
What is your winter weather policy?
In the case of inclement weather, we want students, teachers, and our staff to be safe! We will try to make a wise decision for everyone and be proactive with rescheduling class if necessary. However, with students traveling from many different directions, it can be difficult to judge, so please be in touch if you’re uncomfortable with driving conditions in your area.
Must I bring my own sewing machine to class?
Our classroom is stocked with BERNINA 580 sewing machines, courtesy of Hinkletown Sewing, our local BERNINA dealer. There are enough for each class attendee to use one.
You may bring your own machine, if you prefer. Please make sure it’s in good working order, and don’t forget to bring all cords, feet, and necessary attachments.
I’ve been to The Old Country Store, but haven’t seen your classroom. Where is it located?
Our classroom is in the building immediately east of the Store (3518 Old Philadelphia Pike). It shares the same parking lot as the Store, and the entrance is in the back of the building.
Is the classroom handicap accessible?
The classroom is on the first floor, with two small steps into the door. We are happy to help you into the room or carry your supplies as necessary. The restroom is also on the first floor.
I’m taking an all-day class. What do I do for lunch?
The teacher generally allows 30-45 minutes for lunch, based on group preferences and class progress. Our classroom is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and hot/cold water dispenser. You’re welcome to bring a packed lunch or step out to one of the nearby deli/restaurant/coffee shop options (menus available for your convenience.)
I want to take a class that is not scheduled. Can I request a class?
Yes, you may request a class! Give us a call (800/828-8218) or email our Classroom Coordinator, Marcia Nissley, at MNissley@TheOldCountryStore.com. We want to know the classes that interest you and will work with you, as best we are able, to offer the classes you would like to take.
Can I schedule a private class?
We love when a group of friends (*minimum of 5, maximum of 12) wants to schedule a private class! Our Class Coordinator, Marcia, will be happy to work with you on finding a date and choosing a class that fits your group’s interests. Unfortunately, we do not offer one-on-one tutoring sessions.
There’s a class I wish I could take, but I live too far away to come. Can I purchase the project pattern or kit?
Yes, for some of our classes we have a pattern or kit available; however some classes are based on patterns or include kits exclusive to the teacher and are not for sale outside of class. Please contact us to find out whether what you’d like is available for purchase.
